Been trying to avoid the PoT manga posts I've seen around as I am planning on reading it in one fell swoop when the series ends...but the squeeing that erupted over Genius 349 defeated my resolve. leviosa8's post just killed me. I...can't quite believe that one infamous panel. Fanservice, much? I can't take it seriously (even though I do ship that pairing) because it just looks like it came straight out of a doujinshi. Love the fake scanlation, it just seems so much more fitting than the actual conversation!

Via wednesday_10_00, Matsuoka Natsuki wrote a bunch of short stories in celebration of the release of Flesh & Blood 10 (FINALLY!) on her blog (she uses Vox...heh) here. The stories will be up until 7/31. Speaking of Flesh & Blood 10, I can't believe how long it took for Amazon Japan to list the stinkin' book! The Chara novels I have ordered and am awaiting delivery of (though NOT from Amazon...):

What can I say? I like this series and have been waiting for this volume to come out for a long time--even longer than Flesh & Blood. I hope it doesn't suck (a lot of series with long blanks between volumes tend to go downhill...Do the authors just get sick of the series and write whatever to make money?).

Deadshot (Deadlock 3) by Aida Saki
I have only read Deadlock (the first book in the series) and can't say I was all that enamored of it...I think I need to reread it to make up my mind, though. In any case, I more or less liked Deadlock so I figured I'd just get Deadheat and Deadshot to finish up the series. If I end up hating the series, at least the art is nice. ^^;

For those who don't know Deadlock, check out the detailed review by Nanya, the translation of the first two chapters by xaevyn, and the very large pics posted by rusalkaz. It's prison drama with gorgeous men! In Cali! It does try to be gritty, but I don't think it quite got it...Did watching a bit of Oz spoil me? Man, that show was rather nasty...

Woo-hoo! I am down to one row of open tabs! Now when my orders (yeah, plural) arrive life will truly rock!

That scene DID come out straight from a doujinshi. He was looking for the uproar and he got it. The game alone wasn't enough to keep the fandom's attention, it seems. So, so, so deliberate.

I'm amused. That prison setting is cleaner and prettier than even Prison Break. But the guys are gorgeous at least^_^ Too bad it's not a manga so the Japanese illiterate among us can look at the pics at least.

LOL because the same thing happened to me. I was checking Amazon like every day for F&B, and when they finally listed it, it was OOS. (Huh??) I was like, "SCREW THIS" and ordered it from BK1. (I should've sprung for EMS, though. I have no patience!)

I'm with you on the Deadlock series...it has some good parts, but there's a lot of annoying stuff, too. I thought the second book was better than the first, but Dick needs a serious kick in the ass, so...I'm glad it's not being drawn out longer than three books, honestly.

Yeah, I couldn't believe it was out of stock on Amazon soon after it was listed...ALL THREE of the Chara books I wanted were out of stock! I should've gone with EMS, too. The wait is agony...

Wow, for some reason I thought everyone in the world loved Deadlock to death. I'm glad to hear that you thought the second book was better, because I was wondering how things would be with the characters out of jail.

Yep, I was after the same three books, and I'm sure a lot of other people were, too. They really screwed up with that one. (I just got an e-mail from them, suggesting that I might like Flesh & Blood 10. Um, it's a bit late, guys.)

I'm especially anxious because I'm leaving on vaction tomorrow evening. I hope my package gets here before then. >.<

I wanted to like Deadlock, but parts of it were...really not that great. Like you said, the grittiness felt very fake. (The crossdressers and their tea parties were just BIZARRE.) I thought Yuuto was completely stupid, which was doubly annoying since he was supposed to be smart. But I really did like the characters (stupidity aside), and the relationships (romantic and platonic)...as long as the third book has a happy ending and isn't completely retarded I'll be satisfied, though I don't think I'll ever count the series as a favorite.

It took them forever to list them in the first place, too! I wish there was a button for "bought it somewhere else because you totally dropped the ball."

I didn't want to believe that Yuuto (or anyone like him) was an agent for the government while I was reading it, because otherwise we'd be more doomed than we already are. The development that really made me snort was the whole honorary Latino brotherhood thing. It was just too...buddy buddy, it was unnatural. But yeah, the characters were likable (if totally fantastical).
