Ugh, it seems like the migration off LJ is actually taking place (at least in my tiny corner of LJ) this time. Thanks 6A, you sure take care of your customers good. (Two posts that talked about this without histrionics were synecdochic's explanation the legal situation in the U.S. and shusu's opinions as a customer.) I feel particularly uncomfortable with the report abuse button and the no warning/appeal part. Since I mostly post about BL with pics without flocking, I just don't know if I'm safe. I don't want to flock the fannish posts, either. I don't want to be worrying about losing not only my posts but the uploaded images, as well. But...the inertia! It is mighty.

Part of me feels a bit silly to be getting so paranoid, but...I suppose in the end I've lost confidence in 6A/LJ to at least be open and somewhat fair in their policies and just don't trust them. Okay, maybe I am just paranoid. But it doesn't mean they aren't out to get me!!

In any case, I have accounts at GJ and IJ under the same name. I tried getting a JF account, but they don't give out free accounts to random people currently (gotta be sponsored by a paid user or become a paid user), so no JF. I will now seriously seriously look into wordpress (because it is pretty!) and getting hosting (I need storage for images where there is no TOSing a la Photobucket). I need to figure out the easiest way for me to archive my current posts.

My life is currently MADLY BUSY IRL so I don't know when I will get to these things. *sighs* I'll probably continue to post as usual for the time being...

Arghh, I know how you feel. I just have about 0 confidence in lj anymore and well... I'm here for the little fandom niches I like watching, not for lj itself. Friending you both on GJ (silver_arsenic) and IJ (paradoxical). Meh, I'm lucky in that I got a free JF account a long time ago when they briefly opened them.

Wordpress, though, IS very pretty. o.o

I don't know if the various fandom communities I follow will actually jump ship, but I'd like to be ready. I suppose I should log on to those accounts and friend back...

noooooo, I hope everyone doesn't leave. I like having one place where all the fandoms are connected with one click.

yeah, lj kinda sucks, but they are a private company and they are only targetting that one issue. I might get annoyed if they start expanding their definitions to include harmless highly-fictional smut.

Hope most of fandoms stay...or all move to one single area. ;_;

I know what you mean. I like the level of fandom on LJ, even though it means some wank will break out every now and then.

I don't know if I'd ever be in LJ's sights (with the abuse button even one person could bring attention to things) but their "we'll know it when we see it policy" is hardly comforting.

*snorts* I imagine that herding fen is like herding a pack of blind and pissed off goats. I can't imagine everyone moving to the same place, even though it'd be really convenient.
