I'm on volume 5, Mikanseikoushinkyoku, and I'm just. Just. Loving it. The beginning is a bit much with Yuki insecurity angst, but I loved loved loved the part when Kei took Yuki to the river at night and told him about how he'd been in the depths of craptasticness when he'd heard Yuki's violin and rediscovered the beauty of music. How totally romantic and beautiful. They really are a wonderful couple. *sighs happily* (I just can't wait for Yuki to stop being as insecure and negative as he is in the beginning...)

I've just reread the part where Yuki plays Air on G with Takane and Takane runs off yelling how he'll accompany Yuki so well Yuki will be ecstatic. God, I love that part. ♥

The other books were so full of wonderful moments as well. I didn't care much for the chapter with the school brass band where Yuki loses his job. It was just bleah for me, though it did truly bring Yuki and Kei together. I loved the symphony sleepover. ♥

The violinist challenging Yuki for concert master (I can't be bothered to look up his name) is such a dick. Ugh. I forgot about him.

OK, back to reading volume 5.


I'm going to regret not doing what I should've been doing...But not right now.

Awww... you keep mentioning Fujimi now I'm curious about it. I think I remember I have the manga somewhere, so now I feel like digging it out to re-read it. ♥

Oh yeah! The voice samples for Hana ga futtekuru's drama cd is up~ ♥ I think they sound perfect ♥ I can't wait to hear it~~

I don't think I've looked at the manga--I hope they did a good job of translating the novels to manga. I know the art is very pretty.

When is Hana ga futtekuru's drama CD coming out? I'm a bit worried that I won't like it as a drama CD because of the kind of book it is...I hope it pleasantly surprises me.

YES YES! The art is so pretty. ♥ I remember that was one of the reasons I decided to keep it. :p Sadly, I can't compare because I haven't read the novels, but from the POV of someone who read only the manga, I really liked it, art-wise and story-wise ^_^

I hope so too, especially because the voice actor who will play Akihiro is my favorite ♥ I'd be disappointed if they don't do a good job because I like both the story and the cast ^^

I personally think the manga is weird (although it is, indeed, very pretty) because it only does stories 1 (the rape) and 4 (the one where they sort-of get together because Kei is going crazy from the not-sex). And the events of 2 and 3, which are absolutely CRUCIAL for the relationship development in between, are mentioned in like one panel. So you can imagine I was doing a lot of head-scratching when I read it.

I enjoy the manga, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have checked out the novels if I hadn't liked the manga to begin with, but even though it's extremely faithful to the parts it covers, I don't think it does a very good job of conveying what is adorable and healthy about their relationship -- it only covers the ANGST! and the WOE! and the RAPE BY TANNHAUSER! and then suddenly there's NERVOUS BREAKDOWNS! and SEX!

Yay, Fujimi! I personally loved the PTA showdown story, it's probably one of my favorite chapters ever, but mainly for the romantic get-together parts.

*laughs* Summaries take forever, I know it well. I'm just rereading and making quick comments, which is so much faster.

I think I don't deal with the parts with school kids because I feel so badly for Yuki and I would not react nearly as well (as understandingly) as him. I'd want to get those kids back! I did like the romantic bits a lot.
